Kings XI Punjab v Chennai Super Kings, Qualifier 2 (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

The blistering innings form Virendra Shewag led Kings 11 Punjab to a crucial win over Chennai Super Kings in IPL last night in the 2nd qualifier. After this win Kings 11 Pujab are now in final of Indian Premier League for the very first time in the history. Opener Virendra Shewag played a outstanding innings of his IPL making 122 runs off 58 balls. Shewag smashed total 12 fours and 8 sixes during this run. The game was the must win game for both the teams to fix the final spot. Winning the toss Chennai Super Kings elected to field first. Batting first Kings 11 Punjab made 226 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets with the run rate of 11.30.  Besides Shewag’s 122 Manan Vohra contributed his personal 34 runs of 31 balls.  The Australian hitter Maxwell continued his bad for­­­m in India. He couldn’t stay long. He was out for just 13 runs playing just 6 balls. He scored 1 four and 1 six during his short innings.  After that Miller was the batsman who scored good runs. He scored personal 38 runs off 19 balls with 5 fours and 1 six.
For Chennai Super Kings, Aashis Nehra took 2 wickets.
In the second innings, chasing 227 runs, Chennai lost their first wicket as de Plessis in the very 2nd ball of the innings. Then Suresh Raina came and with Dwyane Smith they made 66 runs partnerships before Dwyane Smith departed scoring 7 runs. ­­­ Suresh Raina was playing attacking game and scored his half century of 16 balls. He helped to make a biggest record in T20 cricket of scoring most runs in the power play by a team. Chennai scored 100 runs off 6 overs. Suresh Raina then departed for 87 runs off 25 balls. He scored smashed 12 fours and 6 sixes during his innings. After the departure of Suresh Raina as run out,  MS Dhoni was only the batsman who contributed well. Jadeja some how contributed well with 27 runs off 21 balls, MS Dhoni scored 42 runs  of 31 runs. Dhoni scored 3 fours and 3 sixes.Chennai was only able to make 202 runs off 20 overs losing 7 wickets. 
For Punjab, Prabindar Awana took 2 wickets.
Results: Kings XI Punjab won by 24 runs.
Now Punjab will meet Kolkatta Knight Riders in the final of IPL.
