Cricket head coach Pubudu Dassanayake is leaving Canada
today to celebrate holiday. But it’s uncertain about his return to Nepal. CAN had previously made a revised deal for
three months reducing the 1 years deal
with Pubudu Dassnayake. He previously completed a 2 years deal with CAN on
March 31st 2014.
Pubudu stated that he is willing to stay in Nepal for longer
time but the current conflict in CAN has forced him to leave Nepal. He also said that to make his long stay Cricket Association of
Nepal must support him and all decision
depends upon the decision of cricket governing body.
Pubudu Dassanayake said, “I have cleary said everywhere I
am willing to work even longer period
with Nepal and I am confident that I can get results. But the decision
goes back to back and it’s up to CAN to decide whatever they want. “
Pubudu said that he is personally unsatisfied with the
working system of CAN but he is happy whatever will the decision be . The
problem now is that, CAN is not giving any decision for his stay.
He said, “Presonally I am disappointed-I am fine whatever
the decision is. The problem is there is no decision. I am just waiting.
But the way things are going the time
will push me to take my own decision”.
Dassanayake cleared that it’s very hard to plan and play
next tournament in future with the current situation in CAN. He also said its challenging to deal and work with CAN. Nepal has Division 3 tournament in hand to be played later this year.
Pubudu Dassanayake has made Nepali cricket strong than ever
it was. After Pubudu started handling Nepali team its been like golden period
for Nepali Cricket. Nepal has won back to back two World Cricket League titles.
Nepal also lifted ACC Elite Cup for the very first time.
The biggest achievement during his stay was Nepal was qualified for the big stage World T20 which is dream of every associate teams. Nepal is now ranked as a top Asian Associate team. Nepal started defeating the World Cup bound UAE after arrivle of Pubudu . Nepal defeated UAE four times in T20 cricket and two times in One Day Cricket twice after Pubudu came in Nepal. Not to forget the solo win against Afghanitan in T20 cricket in World T20. The performance of Nepal in World T20 was able to impress world.
