Pubudu Dassanayake Leaves Nepal.

Cricket head coach Pubudu Dassanayake is leaving Canada today to celebrate holiday. But it’s uncertain about his return to Nepal.  CAN had previously made a revised deal for three months reducing the 1 years  deal with Pubudu Dassnayake. He previously completed a 2 years deal with CAN on March 31^st 2014.

Pubudu stated that he is willing to stay in Nepal for longer time but the current conflict in CAN has forced him to leave Nepal.  He also said that  to make his long stay Cricket Association of Nepal  must support him and all decision depends upon the decision of cricket governing body.

Pubudu Dassanayake said, “I have cleary said everywhere I am willing to work even longer period  with Nepal and I am confident that I can get results. But the decision goes back to back and it’s up to CAN to decide whatever they want. “

Pubudu said that he is personally unsatisfied with the working system of CAN but he is happy whatever will  the decision be . The problem now is that, CAN is not giving any decision for his stay.

He said, “Presonally I am disappointed-I am fine whatever the decision is. The problem is there is no decision. I am just waiting. But  the way things are going the time will push me to take my own decision”.

Dassanayake cleared that it’s very hard to plan and play next tournament in future with the current situation in CAN. He also said its challenging to deal and work with CAN.  Nepal has Division 3 tournament  in hand to be played later this year.

Pubudu Dassanayake has made Nepali cricket strong than ever it was. After Pubudu started handling Nepali team its been like golden period for Nepali Cricket. Nepal has won back to back two World Cricket League titles. Nepal also lifted ACC Elite Cup for the very first time.
The biggest achievement during his stay was Nepal was qualified for the big stage World T20 which is dream of every associate teams. Nepal is now ranked as a top Asian Associate team. Nepal started defeating the World Cup bound UAE after arrivle of Pubudu . Nepal defeated UAE four times  in T20 cricket and two times in One Day Cricket twice after Pubudu came in Nepal. Indian Premier League T20 2014, Final: Match Review.

Winning the toss Kolkata Knight Riders invited Kings XI Punjab to bat. Punjab started with a very low note. Shewag along with Vohra came as the opening pair. Sunil Narine Choose IPL Over New Zealand Series.

West Indian spinner Sunil Narine has made a decision to to play Test series against New Zealand, rather he will stay in Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL. Though there is only a single game left in IPL for him. Sunil Narine was give a deadline of June 1 by the cricket board of West Indies to join the training camp of ahead of the test series. The test series is scheduled to start form June 8.  Most of the players in the West Indies current squad have been able to meet the final deadline of June 1 but Narine is only the player who have been busy and unable to meet the dead line. Sunil Narine was in dilemma after WICB request him to join the camp leaving the Indian Premier League. But Narine decided to stay with Kolkata Knight Riders to play final of Indian Premier League.  

Though Sunil Narine will not leave the T20 series against New Zealand in July after the test match.

The director of WICB, Richar Pybus said that the policy of their cricket board is made in such a way that they players must attend the training camp by the scheduled deadline day before training camp. If not able then they will be excluded from the team.

He said, "The onus of the WICB is to protect the integrity of international cricket at all times. International cricket, and specifically Test cricket, is priority and requires dedicated preparation which is integral to team success,"

He said that players should commit themselves and must give sufficient preparation to the scheduled series to give the excellent performance in the series.

After Sunil Narine being excluded, West Indies have now two options left now. Off-spinner Shane Shillingford and left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn are the spinners who will get chance in the New Zealand series now.

Kings XI Punjab v Chennai Super Kings, Qualifier 2 (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Dhoni scored 3 fours and 3 sixes.Chennai was only able to make 202 runs off 20 overs losing 7 wickets. 

For Punjab, Prabindar Awana took 2 wickets.

Results: Kings XI Punjab won by 24 runs.

Now Punjab will meet Kolkatta Knight Riders in the final of IPL.

ICC has officially confirmed that Nepal is in division 3 yesterday. Now Nepal have to compete in division 3 again. ICC has revealed the teams that will be participating in Division 3 this year. Nepal along with Uganda, USA, Bermuda and top two teams from Division 4 will be competing in Division 3 this year and Canada, Kenya , Namibia, Netherlands and top two teams from Division 3 will be playing Division 2 tournament. ICC has created a new cycle for WCL Division 2, which provides a clear chance for Nepal for improve and forget the forgettable loss in World Cup Qualifiers in New Zealand earlier this year. The top two teams from Division 2 will qualify for Intercontinental Cup this time.

The working period of head coach of Nepali Cricket Team Pubudu Dassanayake is running in uncertainities now. He has now just 2 months left after CAN previously ended a 1 year deal and re-signed him for just three months before ACC Premier League. However Dasanayake has expressed that Nepal should stop all the controversies in the CAN and start focusing on the Intercontinental Cup Qualification. Pubudu Dasanayake is unable to train players since TU ground is close due to the strike of workers against CAN.  Pubudu Claims Nepal is the best team for Division 3 and is able to defeat every teams of Division 3. The home crowed will also help Nepal, since ICC has given chance to Nepal to organize Division 3. Pubudu said that Nepal will tharsh every teams and should now focus directly on the I-Cup Qualification.

Pubudu said, “I am certain that Nepal is the best team in Division-3 and the tournament is held in Nepal I am pretty sure Nepal will thrash all the teams in that division.But we should look further and plan for I-Cup qualification instead and start quality grooming sessions for players right away”,

However Pubudu claimed that they were surprised with the level of cricket in Division 1 and Division 2. The ODI level of Division 1 and Division 2 are of high level and we should start the plans to compete there right away from here.  Pubudu also expressed that  the current situation in CAN has made him difficult  to prepare any plans for cricket team.

Oman's victory over Nepal in thriller.

Oman in the second innings with Nepal started with the worst start as well. They  had to lose 1^st wicket without scoring a runs in the very first ball. Zeeshan Siddiqui was trapped lbw by Sompal Kami in the very first ball to give Nepal a hope to restrict Oman not to chase the low target. Jashan Maqsood was seen sound in the second innings. He was leading Oman to chase the target easily. He scored 44 runs individually off 49 balls to rise the hope for Oman. VS Wategonakar was again trapped  lbw by Sagar Pun as the 2^nd wicket for Nepal in 7.2 overs. Wategonakar was able to score 8 runs off 16 balls. Dangerous man Jashan Maqsood was also sent to pavilion by veteran Shakti Gauchan which returned the hope to Nepal then after. At that time  Oman were 87/3. Later Arif Hussian came in the pitch along with Lalcheta. Arif Hussain tried to hold the innings somehow. He scored 23 runs off 33 balls before being trapped by Nepal’s skipper Parash Khadka. AJ Lalcheta also had to return pavilion after he was trapped lbw by Parash Khadka again. Lalcheta scored personal 4 runs only. Later Jatindar Singh was also trapped lbw by Basant Regmi as the 6^th wicket while Oman were playing at 94 runs. Later Mohamaad Nadeem was also trapped lbw by Shakti Gauchan as 8^th wicket.  Previously Aamir Kaleem was made out by Sompal Kami as 7^th wicket.  Finally Oman skipper Sultan Ahmed  and Amir Ali played a heart breaking innings for Nepal and was able to seal victory for Oman from Nepal. Sultan Ahmed made 32 runs off 55 balls and Amir Ali scored 14 runs off 38 balls.

He somehow tried to support Ayer but Naresh Budha Ayer had to go to pavelian as the 5^th wicket in 21.3 overs. Binod Bhandari also couldn’t play well and was out for 10 runs. Similarly, Shakti Gauchan scored 15 runs, Basant Regmi scored 6 runs. Allrounder Sagar Pun was stumped out by Sultan scoring 20 runs. Later Sompal Kami added 11 runs to make 157 runs in the basket of Nepal before inviting Oman for batting. Oman later chased the target of 158 runs in 47.5 overs making Nepal a disappointing defeat. The tournament has now been interesting with four teams having same chances to win the title.

Aamir Kaleem of Oman took humiliating 4 wickets for Oman. With Zeeshan Maqsood and Lalcheta taking 2 wickets each. Amir Ali and Rajesh Kumar took 1-1 wickets each for Oman to restrict Nepal to 157 runs.

This is the second day of ACC Premier League in Malasiya and it is amazing to see the two seamers, Sompal Kami and Mehboob Alam helped Nepal to get the second victory with the major contribution of both of them. Sompal and Mehboob both have the leading performances for team Nepal so far. Yesterday (May 1) Nepal was able to defeat ODI nation UAE where the duo took 6 important wickets, with 3 wickets each . In the game played today Sompal Kami showed his class again and took 5 crutial wickets of the team Malasiya in Kuala Lumpur. Likewise Mehboob Alam scored a must needed half century for Nepal. Mehboob lifted the innings of Nepal from 36-4 to 125-5 when all the important batsmen were out. Important members of Nepali batting line, Suvash Khakurel, Parash Khadka and Gyanendra Malla were out when Mehboob shared the pitch with Sharad Veshawakar. They both made 89 runs partnership for the fifth wicket and sealed the game from hand of Malasiya.

Before, the three wicket haul of Suresh navaratnam had made Nepal to struggle through the serious problem in Oval, Kuala Lumpur in the mid day. Once after fall of Parash Khadka it almost seemed that 150 target is impossible and Malasiya are going to win today. But Mehboob's 53 off 71 balls gave Nepal a life back. Mehboob was able to eight fousmash rs during his innings. Although Mehboob was run out later for 53 runs, he made only 25 runs left for victory for team Nepal. Then Binod Bhandari and Sharad Veshawakar achieved the targed easily without struggling.

Earlier in the first innings, Sompal Kami helped Nepal by taking wickets of Malasiya's top order batsmen.

The foundation for the win had been laid earlier though, when Kami ran through the Malaysia top order. Even though Malasiya was good stand in case of runs but they continuously kept losing wickets and had to restrict their innings at 149 in  43 overs.

Nepal achieved their 2nd victory in the ACC Premier League 2014 which is running in Malasiya. Nepal in the second match defeated host Malasiya with 5 wickets with 71 balls remaining to go. Being a host Malasiya showed a class game in their home ground. Malasiya elected to bat first after winning toss. Malasiya started with a blast , but losing wickets at the regular intervals cost them. Once they were near to run rate of 6 runs per over but they went on losing wickets at regular intervals. They made total 149 runs in 42.6 overs. Youngster bowler from Nepal, the 18 years old Sompal Kami took 5 important wickets to restrict Malasiya to 149.
In reply Nepal started with a very slower note. They lost the important wicket of Suvash Khakurel in 1st over without scoring a single run. Nepal then gave wicket of Gyanendra Malla when they were at 19 runs. Losing important wickets of Malla, Parash, and Naresh Budha Ayer Nepal had to struggle some where when they were at 36 runs. Then a 89 runs partnership between Sharad Veswakar and Mehboob Alam gave Nepal a strong stand and headed towards win. Mehboob contributed 53 runs off 71 balls smashing 8 fours. Sharad was not out at 29 runs. After Mehboob Alam Binod Bhandari supported Sharad and Nepal easily achieved the important win of the tournament.
Nepal will now play against Oman on May 4, and against Hongkong in May 5.

Final 14 Membered Nepali Squad For ACC Premier League.

The final 14 membered squad  Nepali cricket team has been announced by CAN today for ACC Premier league. Four of the new players got entry to the final squad this time. Veterans Mehboob Alam and Rajkumar Pradhan are the senior colts and a U-19 colt Aarif Seikh and Ram Naresh Giri also were able to make the debut entry to the senior side. These four players were slected in the basis of their performance in the recent conducted National ODI tournament. Aarif Seikh was the man of the tournament in the recent held ODI national tournament whereas Rajkumar Pradhan was the leading wicket taker. Mehboob Alam also gave his best performance in the tournament to prove that, he is back in form. Ram Naresh Giri was given chance instead of injured Jitendra Mukhia.

Except Afghanistan and Nepal all the teams participating in the ACC Premier League are mostly based on their foreigh players. They hire foreigh players and let them play with the name of their nation. Hongkong, UAE and Oman are fully based on the foreign players where as, Malasiya has two or three foreigh players.

Nepal will start their campaign from May 1 playing against UAE. Against Malasiya on May 2, against Oman on may 4, against Hongkong on May 5 and against Afghanistan on May 7.

 Nepal's strong opponent Netherlands has defeated Nepal with a huge margin in a practice match played in UAE. Nepal got defeated by 44 runs from mighty Netherlands. Nepal as always chose to bat after winning the toss. Nepal's bowling attack was seen blunt today and Netherlands were able to make a huge score of 195 losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Ben Cooper and Peter Boren started with a blast after Wesley Barresi was bowled by Sompal Kami in 11 runs. Ben Cooper and Peter Boren made a huge partership and made 99 runs for 2nd wicket. Netherlands players couldnt stop them in scoring and hitting huge shots and gave a target of 196 runs to Nepal.
In reply, Nepal couldnt even reach near of the target. Nepal were restricted for 151 runs in 20 overs losing 7 wickets. Openers Suvash Khakurel was out of 2 runs when the team score was 16 runs and Sagar Pun was also cought in his personal 15 runs. See the scorecard here:

Sompal Kami gave 24 runs off 4 overs and Jitendra Mukhia also gave 33 runs of 4 overs. Shakti Gauchan was wicketless in today's game.

In reply Nepal started with a good note but that was not enough to touch the target. Parash Khadka, Gyanendra Malla and Binod Bhandari were impressive while Pradip Airie again failed to score a run and Suvash Khakurel was out for just 2 runs.
